Nursing is the intentional integration of the practice of faith with the practice of nursing so that people can achieve wholeness in, with, and through the community of faith in which Parish Nurses serve.</div> <bR> <div> <I><B>What is a Parish Nurse?</B></I></div> <div> <I>Parish Nurses</I> are registered nurses, who promote the wholistic health of their congregations and in so doing </div> <div> reclaims the healing ministry of the faith community.  Nurses committing to serve as <I>Parish Nurses</I> are required to possess a strong foundation in their chosen faith, be a part of a faith community and be licensed in the state where they practice.  <I>Parish Nurses</I> are prepared to lead a health ministry through an intensive training  curriculum  in a retreat setting over two weekends.  The specialized training program is designed to strengthen their ability to function as<I> the hands and feet of our Lord</I>. </div> <bR> <div> <I><B>Parish Nurses bridge the Faith and Health Communities</B></I>   </div> <div> <I>Parish Nurses</I> serve as Integrators of Faith and Health to bridge the understanding between the faith and health communities, as Health Educators who teaches and inform congregations, a Personal Health Counselor who prays, listens and  advises, Coordinators of Support Groups who identifies faith commumity needs, as a Referral Agent who partners with community and congregational resources to provide health solutions, as Heatth Advocates who provides support and guidance to indiividuals and families and as the Coordinator of Volunteers who
