Worship at St. Andrew's
In corporate worship we unite ourselves with others to acknowledge the holiness of God, to hear God's Word, to offer prayer, and to celebrate the sacraments.

At St. Andrew's, worship is the focus from which our programs and activities emanate, with the Holy Eucharist at the center.  Services include the pomp and pagentry of the chanted "High Mass" and, at the other end of the spectrum, the spoken "Low Mass."  Morning Prayer is used as a variation for the Ministry of the Word.  In recent years, it has been the custom to hold one service on Sunday and one at noon on Wednesday, and one on Saturday morning--the Holy Eucharist is celebrated at these services.  Home Communion is held on the third Thursday evening of each month (each week during Lent) at the residences of various communicants and is followed by a covered-dish supper.

The Easter Vigil and the Christmas Eve Service of Lessons and music, followed by the Holy Eucharist, are highlights of our church year, along with the celebration of St. Andrew's Day in November.  Weekly Lenten Services are held on Wednesday's at noon during the Lenten Season.

Lay ministers play an important role in the worship service.  Presently, there are 10 Lectors, 3 Lay Eucharistic Ministers, and 13 Acolytes.  In addition, the services are enhanced by the Altar Guild, Senior Choir, and Junior Choir, with Tuskegee University students serving as lectors on University Sundays each month.
